Technical requirements for WordPress

The module needs PHP 7.0 or newer — virtually every WordPress installation qualifies. On the database side MySQL and MariaDB are supported: WordPress uses MySQL by default, so no extra configuration is needed.

The module is installed as an independent folder in your web root. It does not touch WordPress core files and is not installed as a theme, plugin or extension — so WordPress updates never break your backups.

Do I have to install a WordPress plugin?

No. Nothing is installed in wp-admin. The module is uploaded as an independent folder in your site root and runs from there, which means WordPress core updates never interfere with your backups. A plugin is available if you prefer it, but it is optional.

Are my passwords sent to you?

No. Yedekalma uses a client-side architecture. The module runs on your own server, so your FTP, database and panel passwords are never shared with us. The backup is packaged on your server and uploaded straight to the storage target you chose — it never passes through our servers, and it is encrypted end-to-end with AES-256.

What exactly gets backed up?

Three components you can schedule separately: files (images, themes, plugin code), the database (posts, pages, comments, users, settings) and email (IMAP mailboxes). You can give each one its own frequency, and you only pay for the components you actually back up.

Can I restore to a different server?

Yes. During restore you can remap the target database, and the connection details in wp-config.php are rewritten accordingly. This is how site migration works — see our website migration page for the full process.
