The value on your server is not the operating system — it is the data. Yedekalma backs up your web root files, MySQL databases and mailboxes without asking for root or SSH access, and delivers them straight to your own cloud storage.

This is not a server image or snapshot product. The operating system, installed packages and system configuration are not backed up — use your hosting provider's snapshot service for that.
What we back up is application data: web root files, MySQL/MariaDB databases and IMAP mailboxes. In practice this is exactly what is hardest to recreate after a server loss — an operating system can be reinstalled, customer data cannot.
Provider snapshots are valuable, but relying on them alone is risky.
A snapshot usually sits in the same provider's infrastructure; an account problem takes both out at once.
Snapshots are typically few and short-lived, so you cannot roll back to an older point.
To retrieve one file you have to restore the entire server.
A snapshot does not tell you whether it contains malicious code — you may restore an infected state.
Encryption is under the provider's control; you cannot use your own key.
Recovering a single message from a snapshot is impractical.
You do not hand over SSH or root. The module runs with the web user's permissions.
Only changed files, changed tables and new messages are processed, so load stays low.
Media files are not recompressed and the database is dumped with light compression.

If a scheduled backup does not run you are notified — silent failure is not an option.
Let the snapshot stay with your provider — keep the data in your own cloud. 14 days free.
